primer/undercoate

Featured Posts

I would recommend that you choose a make, we used to use Johnstones Weathergaurd, and use their primer, their undercoat and their gloss so that it is all compatible. Primer is designed to go onto bare wood, hence the name.

Recommend to coat with 2 coats of epoxy laminating resin brushed on, sanded down to form a key, before painting.

If done properly the timber should never rot.

Totally agree with this....don't use a wood primer as a first coat tho...use a general metal type primer. Wood primers won't fix to epoxy.

Cheers
