I tend to look at the mooring code to see where other boats have come from.

 

 

Why do they have a code? Why not just put where they are from?

 

Have you memorised the code system then? I'd like to do the same!

They briefly switched to actually putting names on, but it was scrapped when people complained that it was too intrusive.

 

I don't know all the codes (although there is an online resource with them listed), but I do recognise most of the prefixes.

i was not aware of this. Can you provide a links to where people have complained regarding intrusion?
