Only been to the end of the town arm once, a couple of years ago. Moorings were limited but there was space for us. The town centre was surpringly genteel (relatively!) with some fine architecture. So I would say it's worth a visit.

It is certainly a town of contrasts once you get inside that ring road and yes it does have quite a nice old part. I would still give the arm a miss and catch the bus from Stourton. I left Stourton on Wednesday so plenty of mooring there now:)
