Can anyone help with a bot of knowledge?

Does the Travel Power generator for a 110V model differ from the 240V one, with the conversion being the control box? Or are the genny and the box both unique to each other?

I have now had a definitive answer to this from Cox, the experts. they say that the generator and the box are a dedicated pair and cannot be interchanged.

That's what I suspected since the voltage elevation is done in the alternator not the box of tricks (unlike and inverter), so presumably the lower voltage output needs a lower voltage alternator. Sorry, I wasn't sufficiently confident to post that before.

Odd though that the 220/240V version has a 'centre tapped' earth, and I have a feeling that the 110V version has two outputs. Not doubting what Cox's say, & I think Gibbo said the same thing on here a few years ago.

When I had mine rebuilt by Cox's...it was because the alternator unit was burnt out.

 

Cox said I had to bring the box along as well...as they told me the box had to be set up to match the alternator.

When I posted that here...Gibbo said it was 'cods wallop'..(or something less polite)..but that is what Cox told me.
