Rich
Having just discovered that our mooring is now covered by 3 Mobile's 4G/LTE signals I have bought an E5372. It has twin antenna input sockets and reading up on the subject (recommended if you are tired of watching paint dry) it seems to be highly desirable to use two antennas, provided that your service provider supports multi-streaming. Sadly the lady on 3's tech support hadn't got a clue as to what I was asking her, did 3 support multi-streaming. I am unable to find an email address to ask 3, surprise surprise, so I was wondering if anyone on here was using two antennas with the E5372 and if so did it make a difference? Set-up so far, mifi in saloon window and signal picked up by wifi dongle and long USB cable, is impressive but possibly could be better.
Nickhlx
You are a few days ahead of me, doing exactly the same exercise... I had a long e-mail discussion with a very helpful and informative guy at Solwise and he confirms that for 4G/LTE reception you must have a "two aerial lead connection" aerial to achieve best performance - suitable aerials are likely to cost around £75... Rich
You could try here, the 3 blog http://blog.three.co.uk/2014/03/28/zte-mf823-4g-dongle-huwaei-5372-available-now/ The only reference I could see on there was a statement that is the poster could find one to fit it might work. About as knowledgeable as the customer services on the phone. This link is also pretty informative, if not a little technical ! http://www.solwise.co.uk/4g-lte-antenna-considerations.html Nick I had seen this and it was what prompted me to make the facetious remark about paint drying. I will phone them.
