Need a fuel injector pump govener bleed screw

In trying to bleed the fuel in my Thorneycroft 108(BMC 1.8) engine following the instructions in the manual. The bleed screw on my fuel injector pump sheared off.

Been looking around on the net but struggling to find one. Thorneycroft parts website never seems to work so can't check them. Anyone know where I can get one?

Thanks

Your local Fuel Injection Specialist - just tell them its for a CAV DPA pump. Or phone Calcutt boats.

I just hope that this really is the bleed screw and not the idle stabilisation damper screw between the stop and throttle lever. My advice is to leave that one alone and only use the one on the cylindrical body.

I broke one a few months ago and got a spare from AMC diesel at Longton, phone 01772 613003. They used to build the BMC engines there and own the Thornycroft name. They are usually very helpful. The screws are incredibly expensive for such a little thing, presumably because of their rarity value.

This is covered apparently every time some one bleeds their BMC fuel. This screw can be skipped in the bleeding procedure regardless of what the manual says. In fact there is a guy on youtube that runs you through how to bleed BMC engines if I remember correctly
