  1. Try Midland or any other decent chandlers.
  2. It's electric and the condensation is too high to be the drip tray.
  3. Thanks for the useful tips, got a couple more questions now. Since putting my fridge outside people keep nicking my beer. I removed the roof and can't seem to get the boat warm now. Had the fire well stoked and the heating on full but it just wasn't getting warm like it normally does. Any pointless answers?
  4. We finally tracked down some damp to condensation forming behind the fridge. The fridge is basically in a wooden box with about an inch around all sides. Increasing air flow round the fridge seems to be the answer but what is the best way? I was thinking of putting air vents towards the rear of both sides but someone suggested a vent in the floor.
  5. Thanks speedwell, will give them a try tomorrow.
  6. I left mine at home once, tried a number of things before I got one that worked, the nail file on a fake Swiss army knife
  7. Followed the instructions in the Thornycroft manual item 4,6.
  8. In trying to bleed the fuel in my Thorneycroft 108(BMC 1.8) engine following the instructions in the manual. The bleed screw on my fuel injector pump sheared off. Been looking around on the net but struggling to find one. Thorneycroft parts website never seems to work so can't check them. Anyone know where I can get one? Thanks

  10. We need a bit more info. From our experience I would find out as much about the problem now before it's too late. When we brought our boat over a year ago we new there had been some water in the dry bilges in the past but there was no sign of it still leaking. A couple of months ago we popped to the boat unplanned and found the back of the bedroom about 6 inches deep in water. It turned out to be the seal on the water pump, this could have been leaking for ages. The pump was in the middle of the boat and had been slowly filling up over the year section by section until it finally came out over the inspection panel.
  11. We had the same problem with our TV. My solution might not be suitable for you due to the location of your headphone socket. I had a set of USB powered computer speakers that came free with my computer and we're soon ditched as they were pretty low powered for music etc. The TV has a USB socket to power them so I gave them a try and although not top quality they are far better than the TVs speakers. I can even hear a bit of bass now! You can get a cheap set from almost anywhere for under a tenner!
  12. Sorry for all those that don't use Facebook but many people, like myself do. Its a bit like a branded yeast extract, you either love it or hate it. I love both and wanted bring all those boaters on Middle level and Facebook together.
  13. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=817359263&ref=tn_tnmn#!/groups/377793112324666/ Thought it was about time us poor middle level people had our own group.
  14. The buzzer on our Gauge panel has started beeping at about twice a second (could be faster or slower not timed it) To start with I thought it was the alternator belts as I had not long changed them but it didn't get faster or slower with the engine. It was a bit hard to track down where it was coming from due to the BMC being a bit noisey. Panel is a Thorneycroft and the enging is a BMC 1.8 if that helps! Anyone have any ideas what this might be, at the moment my only thought is to attack the wires with a set of cutters (no car radio in the rear so can't use that to hide the noise;) ).
  15. Levels are low so its tough going in places.
  16. Looks like you will get to March before us as we can't set out until tomorrow after I fix the Alternator. In that case first one there buys the beers!
  17. Spoke to EA chap this evening and Elton should be open by Saturday lunch time (fingers crossed). We are planning on setting out from Oundle Saturday as soon as I've fixed the alternator problem. Guess the race on!
  18. That's a shame but glad you managed to get to where you wanted to be. Not very keen on fishing which is handy as I've got a fair bit of work to do on the boat.
  19. Wife spoke to them today and they hope to be finished before this weekend, weather and other issues permitting. We are hoping to get to our mooring by Tuesday.
  20. Managed to find one similar size on a kit car website.
  21. Attempted to change the belts today on my Thornycroft 90 BMC 1.5 and discovered that the adjustment bracket had broke. This would probably explain why it's started screeching. I've looked around the net and have not been able to find a replacement any ideas where I can get one in the next few days ? It's the one on the alternator at the bottom right of the engine, think its the one for the starter battery but not 100% sure. The belt isn't the one that drives the water pump!
  22. That brought the memories back of two weeks ago! Won't sleep tonight now! Can't remember the names but they are the two locks before Lilford, they are worse than this. How far have you got? We are stuck at Oundle till 5th April or later if the work gets put back further or the SSA is still on.
  23. Not good if you were about to set out! We have the messages sent to our home phone and the mobile so we know we will get them.
