a little adventure

dear canal world forumites, some of you may remember me as Honey Ryder, a live aboard since 2006.

I sold the narrowboat a while back, some of you may have read my blog about the pit falls and joys of living on a boat with a grumpy French man and a slightly racist chihuahua. the blog liveson, albeit with another boat of a rather different nature.

so, the last 4 years have been another level of adventure. between working for a mentallist editor in London, taking redundancy and then just enjoying the whirlwind that followed that and then finding a wonderful job in southampton.

the latest adventure is one offshore.I know this is not a forum full of people wishing to embark on such things, however, I think the entertainment value is worth sharing it.

im a liveaboard. I have certain civilities I maintain in my home, even when racing it 700 miles across the irish sea and the english channel. such as cooking fresh food, baking a cake while leaning at 35degrees which is much harder than you might first imagine... and maintaining a sense of humour

so ladies and gentlemen, indulge me, have a read, and have a glass of something wherever you may be as I raise mine at completing one my lifes little goals.

note: i would have posted from my honey ryder forum account but for some reason i cant log in to it so had to choice but to reregister via farcebook. if anyone can link me back to my honey ryder account that would be splendid.

Hi Jayne.

Clicked one of your links and a page came up, the computer hung up, paused for good effect then crashed. Not one of its' usual little foibles.

'Took ages to restore. Not sure what's going on but I'm not going for another try.

stay dry.

I had a quick look this morning but I must say I hate blogs laid out like that. I always end up opening pages I don't want. if you had not have said it was the last one I would never have found it.

"Hate" is a bit harsh, no?

anyway, thanks for taking the time, even as a quick look.

Hi Jayne

I didn't manage a quick look, read the whole lot at once, off with a dicky back just so you don't think me too sad!!!

A great read!!! Witty, self deprecating and bloody funny, the mad Frenchman must have been a Wally to miss out on an adventure like that. Thanks for a brilliant blog from an ex chesterfeldian!!!

Sorry I did mean Hate, but I have subscribed to the "feed" so hopefully it will work for me like that.
