Norton Canes Colliery Basins

Can anyone give me an update on these basins? We moored there many years ago but found them piled off during a later visit, they now appear open again on GoogleEarth.

Any history of events would be most interesting.

Hi,

 

Do you mean Grove colliery basins, on west side of the cannock extension canal south of lime lane bridge, currently used

as moorings; or the basins on the east side of the cannock extension just north of lime lane bridge the remnants of which

can still be seen from the towpath but which have been disused for many years (20+ AFAIK)?

How many years ago ?
