Lock Maintenance

Moored above lock 10 on the Atherstone Flight , last boat through left top gates open at locks 10 and 11. Didn't notice until I took the dogs out , closed the top gate of lock 10 . By the time I came back the the lock had emptied . Guess if I hadn't closed the gate we would have been in a very low pound in the morning.

 

Guess this will get worse as the holiday season gets going

Only locks 5 and 2 of the flight do not empty overnight. I always try to hit Atherstone going up very early, or very late, hoping everyone else stopped moving hours ago.

Agreed but this emptied pretty quickly , I would rather they tackled these basic problems rather than some of the other tinkering that's going on.
