Spam type links on Forum

My enjoyment of the forum is being impaired by lots of links being scattered through it as per the tags above.

 

I'm on a PC with Windows 7 and Firefox.

 

I've run Malwarebytes without any errors being reported. It's obviously some kind of virus infection.

 

Anyone got any suggestions how to remove?

It's a browser problem on your computer. We have had this before, someone will remember the solution

I've just done a system restore and problem has gone away.

 

Obviously something I picked up in the last few days that is too new for Malwarebytes to spot.

 

Be careful folks it's dangerous out there !

It isn't that Malwarebytes doesn't spot it, it is because it is a legitimate, if undesirable, add-on in your browser

These tagging programmes sometimes piggy-back onto some innocuous download. This happened to me on downloading from PC Advisor. As soon as it happens, go into control panel and then into Programmes and Features. You can sometimes pick out the programme that has downloaded and uninstall it.

 

I tried restore, but my settings were probably not good enough and so used the uninstall feature of Programmes and Features.
