Alan&sue
Hi Planning on going to Skipton to look at a couple of boats nearby, can anyone recommend place to stay near the canal Thanks Sue x
Titus
It all depends what sort of accommodation you're looking for, there's The Rendevous Hotel, a mile out of town situated immediately next to the canal or there's Herriotts Hotel, in town and on the side of the canal again or there's loads and loads of B & B's all round the area it just depends on what you like and what your budget is, good look with the viewings, Are you looking at any boats in particular ? There is a Travelodge but it's about 15 - 20 minutes walk to the canal. Its at the roundabout where the Gargrave Road meets the A629. Typical of Travelodge- cheap clean and comfortable. If you can go a bit upmarket there is Herriots which is very close to the Leeds Liverpool Canal on Broughton Road. Skipton also has a good selection of B&B's and guest Houses in the centre which are still close to the canal because the canal passes right through the centre of town. Clifford
The Woolly Sheep pub is a Skipton landmark. Close to the canal (but so is everything that is actually in town). Used to be on Laterooms all the time.
