dor
For those who feel smug about their twin tanks, there is the small problem of actually getting your red diesel. Most suppliers are not going to have two tanks, nor want to deal with the paperwork. Once red diesel goes, it will probably become difficult to buy it on the cut. We already have the situation where suppliers are reluctant to supply red to anything other than direct to boat; this will become even more so once the derogation goes. You may find a friendly farmer who will let you buy some, but he risks very large fines if he can't prove what use it is for. Remember the excise man has enormous powers and is not easy to placate. Any boatyard members out there know how they wll deal with diesel once the derogation goes?
