I think that Living on,& actually Cruising in a boat can be quite cheep.

Im pretty much self sufficient for most of my needs,As far as Making my own Pwr both 230v & 12v, Making my own Hot water. Heating, Making my own fresh water, even growing some Herbs & Mushrooms in a poly box kit from the garden center. Obviously my biggest expense whilst CCing Was Fuel Approx £2000 per yr,(ain't done a lot since late 2012 doing a mini re-fit in a marina So only done approx 150 Eng hrs since then ) & then food £4000 per yr. Then Boat insurance,Licenses,Wear & Tear,Maintenance, Phone,Ocational car/van hire& Emergency fund probably £2500 per yr. So £10K per yr for my comfortable CCing lifestyle choice will Smother it for me as I bet I've forgot some expenses.

But you have to have the Kit & Boat in place in order to achieve & to keep achieving that lifestyle,That's the hard & Expensive bit,in my opinion.

You are so right. I love using old fashioned (to some) kit. A hand coffee grinder not electric, a pestle and mortar for spices instead of an electric whizzer, making curries from whole spices not a packet or jar.

Maybe living simply is a better term than frugal?

I think spices taste better out of a pestle and mortar... or maybe that's just me ;) lol

Yes, simple living is a good way of putting it! :)
