Wood, whats good to burn

The BEST wood to burn is of course free wood and who gives a toss how it burns just as long as it stops you freezing your nuts off your own branches. As for making bows, I've always found ribbon to be the best material to use. Just saying.

My bow is made of steel.

It depends how "free" it is. I have a large supply of well seasoned oak but there's the 'costs' of reducing it to logs small enough to fit in the stove (door) and of transporting it from its location to the boat/home. I'd pass by unseasoned or unsuitable wood these days, knowing that while its free, there's cutting up, transporting, and storage (seasoning) of it to be done, then a 2nd trip to the boat with it.
