Why? is the question most will be asking, they have not got the best reputation, I had one and it was utter rubbish, a MX40 is based on a 25year old eberspacher design, if your wanting that type of heater go for a Webasto 5kw and the best thing is loads of bits and spares on ebay...

Just for the record, Midland Chandlers dont do Mikuni heaters....

Not everyone has the same experience as Kristian, we have an MX40, it has never let us down in 8 years. I think you would find that when this subject comes up, the Mikuni is the least "slagged off" of the 3, Eber, Webasto & Mikuni. The best advice seems to be to make sure it is installed exactly as per the instructions, whichever the brand, its no good cutting corners.
