Yes,don't bother,get a Candy Aquamatic,does'nt take up much more room and is fully automatic with a 3kg load.

We aren't live a boarders. We just need it for a 4 week trip. It will come into use again.

I know several people with little twin tub machines who find them very good, a bit time cosuming to use but apparently effective. These machines would,I suspect, be suitable for a 4 week trip.

We find the little hand-operated barrel shape thingy just fine, as long as we don't overload it with too many clothes at once.

When we bought our boat it came with a twin tub thing that looked a bit like a toy. After a few attempts it turned out to be brilliant. The trick is to not overload it. Great little things and better that the laundrette (in Brentford at least..)

They are great things for a 4 four week trip. I managed with one as a full time liveaboard for around two and a half years and by then I was getting a bit fed up with how time-consuming it was so I upgraded to a fully automatic toploader which can take 6kg and is pretty much the same width as the portable.
