Mounting peel & stick solar panels

Bought a couple of these adhesive backed amorphous solar panels. Have some concerns about them causing corrosion when mounted. Would it be best to stick them to a freshly sanded and primed surface or can I just whack them over my existing paint job. Boat is matt black, so is easy to patch up with cheap paint.

I stuck mine on with Sikkaflex - wouldn't trust just their adhesive. Now I know moisture and air cannot get under, there can be no corrosion. And any pikeys taking a liking to it will have a tough job to nick it. I put it straght on the sanded roof paint, and doubt I could get it off and still in one piece, if even I wanted to.

We have the semi-flexible ones from Solara originally stuck down with Sikaflex. After about 5 years rusty water would often creep out from under one of them. I gently levered it off to find the paint had lifted from the steel.

I've drilled and tapped the roof now.

On the other hand, met Nb Florence on the Chesterfield last year with two of these on his roof, also matt black, and he was very pleased with them. I might have gone for these if it wasn't for the length. I didn't have a long enough, unencumbered space.

Regards

Pete
