Ballast can I just move it

After putting our stuff on the boat it listed to one side I have moved some ballast over to correct it question is is that ok or is there anything else I should do? Sorry if that seems like a daft question but im new to this.

As long as your repositioned ballast is fairly well confined and cannot move then it should be fine.

You'll possibly also experience other causes of boat listing....namely:

 

1. One gas bottle full, the other empty.

2. Toilet full.

3. Water tank full makes bow drop.

4. Full diesel tank makes stern drop.

5. Bags of coal on roof.

6. etc....

 

Sometimes it's handy to keep a 56lb weight on the stern, that you can shift on side or the other when neccessary.

As long as said 'stuff' is permanent then that's fine. If it moves about or reduces in weight you might have to re-trim.
