BMC heads

Can anyone suggest a source for BMC cylinder heads. My mate 's one has cracked near the thermostat housing. He's been given two other heads but after many hours of cleaning up, he found the valves were shot on both of them. No cruising til its fixed

How are the valves in the original cracked head? Surely you can get one good set of valves out of three heads

calcut boats do a lot of bmc stuff i think, but there on the other side of cheap.

 

north kilworth marina might be worth a try aswell.

Make sure you are sitting down with a large Scotch first, though !

 

Calcutt will tell you 1.5 heads will not interchange with 1.8, whereas other will tell you they have done it without problems. (Don't you just love clear messages!).

 

Are we talking a 1.5 or a 1.8 engine, BTW ?

Hmmm, this document says:

 

Austin 1500, 1622, 1800 ("B" series) Ex .343 x .564 x 2.295

 

BMC diesel .342 x .594 x 2.625

 

I'm not clear if that is the 1800 diesel
