A new restriction notice arrived today warning about an event on the River Trent. It would be great if they put the village/town/city location instead of between the Suspension Bridge and Lady Bay Bridge. I know where they mean - my wife does not.

 

Others who do not know will now have to conduct further research to see if they are affected.

 

Worse still the clerk/typist publishing the notice probably has no idea.

There will be a charity Dragon Boat event involving a series of races throughout the day.

 

These will take place between 10:00am and 5:00pm.

 

The River will remain open for navigation but please proceed with care and listen to the advice of the event stewards.

Nottingham guys next to the lock onto the Nottingham and beeston canal

 

Ladybay bridge used to be a railway bridge but now is a road bridge.Next one along is Trent bridge then the suspension bridge. The dragon boats look great and they have been doing a fair bit of practice of late and do have the sense to look where they are going and not cut up commercial traffic unlike some of the plonkers of the sailing dinghy club next to Holme pierrpoint or indeed many of the rowing club types
