Gayton to Market Harborough

We are about to have our first....long awaited...narrowboat trip. Does anyone know of any restrictions on our route?

Indeed, unfortunately.

 

Buckby locks have restricted opening as, I believe have Watford & Foxton flights

Buckby LOCKS

 

10-3, last entry 1.30.

 

Watford Flight

 

10-3 last entry 2.15

 

Foxton Flight

 

10-4 last entry 3.15

 

You will need to allow a full day for each flight,although a couple of your days will be enforced short days.

My suggestion if you only have limited time would be to get to the top of Foxton and moor there, walking/bus/taxi to market harborough.

Thank you for that very useful information....will ammend our overnight stops accordingly.

I have heard on the 'towpath telegraph' that at Foxton locks, boaters are being asked for their reason to go down or up the flight.

 

If as Swampfrog appears to want to do go down and then back up afew days later they are requesting/not allowing the boat down.

 

As stated this has only come on the 'telegraph' no confirmation.
