That looks as though it's approaching Langton lock, the last mile or so there can easily get very much like the sea. No need to go that far down the river now

You are correct Tim, it is approaching Langton Lock and further downstream of the usual post-link route. They were very lucky to all get back in that day as they got well and truly caught by surprise.
