PRM 260 gearbox

I recall being told that it is possible to use the PRM's hydraulics as a power take-off when the engine is in neutral.

 

have any forum members used this ability?

 

 

how much power can be produced,would there be enough capacity to drive a BOW thruster or an AC/DC GENERATOR?

Don't think the 260 has a PTO. The 500 and 750 do but this is direct drive with no clutch. The 1000 and above have a clutched system.

the pressure is quite low for Hydraulics ( about 400psi) and the flow is nowhere near engough to power anything significant. The pto's spoken of are a directly driven shaft which could be used to power a hydraulic pump to power a bow thruster.
