Pretty Funked Up
"powering laptops" is another sticky thread suggestion for FAQ. 12v to 'insert your laptop voltage here' DC-DC regulator from maplins for me. You could also use your AC mains charger via an invertor. Top tip: charge switched off - use plugged in fully charged for best performance/battery hit if a single charge doesnt get you through the whole night. RLWP
We've only got 12v car sockets on the boat. We use a universal car laptop charger, will run either laptop as it has several connectors. (Also useful in the car on business trips ) Sue (not Richard)
matty40s
Mr Mors, several suggestions are charge whilst cruising if your lappy is running low, just charge until green light comes on and then disconnect again.(i.e don't leave power on) get a backup battery from amazon (c £20-50) get an emergency mobile charging unit (can be used for mobiles, lappy , ipod etc)from fleabay - again, charge whilst cruising take lappy and other chargeable items with you when going to work/macdonalds/costa coffee/friends and relatives!!!!!! works for me
ridders
a small inverter will easily run this and is so handy for other stuff, charging phones, running soldering irons, charging cordless tools, toothbrushes etc, the cheapest ones from argos or similar would do for this.
