Blacking again

My boat is on a hard standing, until next Spring, while I restore her.

If I black the hull now will it degrade in the open air/sunlight.

I would not have thought so, but best to contact the manufacturer of your intended blacking product for the full SP

 

It made little or no visible difference to mine under similar circumstances, but I won't really know until she's craned out for the next blacking.

No more than the bit that will still be out of the water when you re-float the boat.

 

It's wear and tear, and a general soaking and coverage in weeds and "barnacles" that tends to make it fall off. I'd say if left just to the elements, that will make little difference in the bigger scheme of things.

Black now while the weather is perfect for it. Next spring maybe too wet, but you can always add another top coat if be...

Black it now when its warm and dry. Leave it for a couple of days between each coat.
