Victor Vectis
Good Evening Everyone. Eldest daughter's graduation 'do' the week after next. Not enough time to get the boat to Liverpool so we are planning to moor in Chester and travel in by train. After that we need to leave it for the best part of a week before setting off for the summer cruise Any advice on 'safe' 7 day moorings in Chester area? (Doesn't have to be in city centre) As ever, thanks in advance. SAM Ryde IOW
NB Alton
Around Christleton by the Cheshire Cat Pub or the Old Trooper Pub are generally a good bet. It's very close to the Park & Ride car park so regular buses into town & railway station (couple of miles). If you want to go further into town (down the locks) there is mooring nr cow lane bridge (before the Frog and Nightingale pub) or again below Northgate Staircase there are reasonable mooring at Chester Basin, opposite Telford's Warehouse. Personally I would stick with Christleton though.
Donald Gilchrist
We stopped at Christleton for a 2 days last year, its an easy distance from town without having to go down the locks and has a winding hole, cant remember how many days mooring it is there.
