It seems Defra are a little late in making this announcement as the panel first met over a month ago.

 

I note that the panel will not be advising the waterways minister but his boss on transition trustees.

 

At the moment, the waterways minister appoints BW's ten board directors and one would have thought it natural that he would make the 'transition trustee' appointments.

Good to see that the panel doesn't have anyone with long-term canal experience.
