Hello,

Im trying to track down a manuel for a Lister SR3. Im having trouble with the fuel supply and need to find out how many and what filters it should have.

Cheers,

Adam

If Lister themselves don't have one, try Peter Thompson at Marine Engine Services in Uxbridge. He is an experienced Lister specialist.

The fuel goes from the main tank to the fuel lift pump, then to the filter, then to the fuel pump in the crank case

and onto the injector. A fuel supply problem could well be linked to the fuel lift pump which also has a priming lever you can use to check fuel is flowing.

The actual fuel pump proper is within the crank case and connected to the governor via linkage. This is what pumps fuel to the injector, (normally a pintel nozzle type with the combustion chamber built into the piston) (direct injection). However the fuel lift pump merely lifts fuel up above tank level to the main pump.

To get at the injector the crankcase door is normally unbolted although this shouldn't be necessary. You need to check the lift pump is working as normal and that the main tank is unblocked.

You can get the Lister manual on Tony Brook's site.

Hi. I downloaded one from here

http://www.bluemoment.com/manuals/lister_man.pdf

hope this helps

There's social history embodied in that box on the front cover: "You want the best out of this engine, give this manual to the man who has to look after it."

I bet modern Lister manuals don't carry that anymore!
