Hi,

this may have been covered before but if it has i apologise as i ahve been uable to find it. My question is if you find a farmer willing to let you moor on the non towpath side of the canal what will he have to pay bw or does the moore have to pay them seperately.

sorry if this is a silly question but if i find a mooring i don't want to be on the wrong side of bw.

cheers,

Steve

It has been covered a few times recently. BW would need to be paid an amount equal to one half the cost of the nearest equivalent BW-provided mooring. So if for example there was a similar BW mooring nearby chartging £1500 per year, the moorer or the farmer would have to pay BW £750 per year. As to which of the two pays it to BW, that varies. Any further payment from the moorer to the farmer is a matter for negotiation between those two parties and is no concern of BW.

Thank Allan,

that makes my decision very easy, i will stay where i am. I wondered why the mooring is now vacant and the boat that was on it is now in a marina further north.

cheers,

ARCTURUS & SIRIUS are both moored by a famers field. I pay the farmer he then pays bw end of garden, so far there has been no problems. mike

Then we pay BW £550.00 end of garden mooring.

Then the boat licence on top of that.

Were on the L&L
