total pratt
'scuse me but I'm new. apologies if this has been covered before, but I want to connect my boat up to the mains. A neighbour told me I should connect the greenyellow wire to the hull. Seems odd. Anybody got any advice? I just want to bring an extension lead on board to run a heater and a cooker. Denis R
....and this isn't a wind-up. .....and your use of the 'Search' function has revealed nothing.... On the other hand, if your enquiry is genuine, welcome aboard and I'd suggest entering something like 'earthing' in the search engine. You'll have plenty of material to which you can refer! I only asked. not much of a welcome  Hi There Welcome aboard - dont listen to him - he's not had his tea yet. There are some crazy's on here but not me Yes you do have to connect the yellow and green to the hull to stop you dieing from a 240V electric shock. Usually to save corrosion to the hull it is run through a 'THINGY' (I've forgot the name) - someone will be along shortly to give you chapter and verse.
