alan_fincher
To be fair to NBW, BW's own Waterscape stoppages were still showing the lock as closed long after it was reported open here!
Keeping Up
To be fair to NBW ... And why would anyone want to do that?
pillingslock
Having moored at barrow for over a year I know the main problem with stopping for watering up. He's called Frank and runs 'Barrow Boating'. He deliberately leaves his tatty hire boats tied up adjacent to the tap area... This stops people using the mooring, he does the same trick on the 24hr mooring futher along the bank.... All because he fell out with the owner of the Navigation pub and wants to stop people mooring up for a beer! Check it out for yourself next time you pass this spot, the 'rent a wrecks' all have green paint jobs. Hi guys, If you're buying diesel from us, having a pump-out or just a few coffee's/drinks in the new bar we have here, we don't mind you pulling into an empty berth to fill up with water. Bring your own hose though as people have pinched all the ones we bought! We checked this out.... water point was free, as was the 24hr mooring, popped in to the cafe for a buttie while we waited and found Frank to be charming and helpful, although a bit peeved with the 'hippies' (his words) that had turned up for a festival down the road and were sharing the toilet key and so keeping his customers waiting ages.
