INJECTOR REMOVAL

Hi All, can anyone here suggest an alternative way of removing the Injectors on a BMC1.8  the BMC  manual says you need to use tool 18G284 and 18G284P as seen in picture attached.

Never had one and never had to. 

 

I undid the pipes and two nuts and then used a roll or pry bar between the head and the bit the injector pipe screws onto the as close to the body as I could. Most came out without a problem. If that did not work, then two roll bars, one on either side.

 

In extremis, put the nuts back on several turns and the injector pipe, then start it. o not do that without the nuts in place.

Loosed all the nuts, do not remove them, and start the engine. They will come loose for sure!

You need all new copper washers and new steel bottom washers in every place on refitting.
