Mortar bomb on towpath, Leamington Spa

Not really a stoppage as far as I know CRT havnt closed the canal.Yet.

Police either end of towpath stopping people using the towpath between Br41 and Br40 and asking boats preferably not to pass-but if they wish too then go over the opposite side of canal.

One of the (bemused) coppers was telling me that it was thought a magnet fisher had pulled it out. Was only theory though as the puller outer hadnt reported it-just left it there for presumably someone else to find 😀

It wasnt a very big one anyhow.

Used to live just round the corner from bridge 41 and can definitely imagine some of the less-than-delightful locals lobbing mortars at each other in the early hours of Saturday morning
