Is anyone else finding the site very slow this morning. Not a moan but thought it best to mention it.

Ours are "Tilly" and "The Hampster" The last one used to be "P.got", but Sadly that was only because no one could spell Peugeot.

Locks open again but one paddle gear on bottom lock is taped up.

Guess What After all that repair work, the bottom lock is closed again, with pretty tape fluttering in the gale, awaiting a repeat. So its back to one side open only but thankfully the weather is keeping the numbers down.

And we awoke to an empty top pound plus folk complaining they could not open one of the bottom locks. Say what you like about the repair team - you wouldn't know they had ever been there...........

Delighted to report that we were able to return the keys to the owners this morning. One of the keys was vital to the owners wheelchair operation and they were getting a bit desperate. Oh yes and we checked the name of the boat letter by letter and the number of the boat number by number, and both were exactly as originally reported. We can confirm that the boat does exist. So well done to the Volunteer Lock-keeper who found them and a big query to CRT for not telephoning the owner when asked to do so on the day they were found!!

Dom has telephoned to make it clear that it is not the boat he is selling. I took the name from the key float and spelt it exactly as it is. LELIA MAUD It also has the number 511356 It is thought the boat went through Hillmorton Locks 2 days ago.

Volunteer Lock Keepers at Hillmorton have found a key on a ball belonging to boat LELIA MAUD. If you see them, please tell them to contact canalchef café - 01788 567600 where they key is held.

Did you know this recently deceased boater – relatives sought.

The funeral of Matthew Cullen will take place on 21st April and the vicar is hoping to find some relatives or friends to attend. For his last 8 years he lived on a boat at Oxley, Wolverhampton, possibly in a Marina. It is thought the boat was in primer grey and had no visible name. Prior to that he apparently lived on a farm at Hillmorton. Do any of you have any helpful info? -
Tried it last November and CRT sent us back in disgrace as Badsey was apparently too wide to get through the Stratford lock gates which did not open fully.
