  1. What they saying is if its not plugged in ie the lead from dish to equipment is missing. then no licence is needed. and as you say if it was plugged into the lead then licence is needed or did you mean to even if unplugged a licence is still needed.

  3. Ok only prob i can think on that one if i brought a boat with a fix round thingy on top cos they could say i just unplugged the leads. But then it prob wouldnt leave to much of a mark if i took it off.
  4. sorry for taking over the thread a bit there I think until the whole country has gone over and they iron out the problems they are have in different areas you will have problems also depends on how high your arieal is or how old it is. There where saying you would need to upgrade your tv arieals to get the best from digital. as i said I think i live without it on a boat only thing I would miss is the discovery channels.
  5. OK so I do without a norm tv and watch things from iplayer etc dvd anything else get friends to record them and watch at a later date i can live without XFACTOR and all the other c****. News and can catch up on the net so there not much elses i need it for. can always bye a large PC monitor and plug laptop and or dvd player into that. Just had a thought while typing this cant you get normal tv from the net.
  6. So after reading that am i right in saying if someone elses records something for you off their tv and then you take it home you dont have to have a licence to watch it? How do you get a licence if you are a CCer and always on the move. would i have to have a licence if i was just going to watch films on DVD's sorry for going off topic.

    batteries

    could someone please explain all the different terms and maintenances of your batteries i.e what is BMV% etc and the hours of amps or what ever it is been reading threads and it just been going over my head cos dont know what all the different terms mean and what they all for. Sorry if this sounds a dump question think i could do with going back to school lol.
  11. thanks to all looking at it 12v is prob going to be the best and a small inverter for the odd thing here and there and it would prob be better for my batterys and make them last longer.

  13. I would use your laptop and plug it into your tv then its just going to cost you the price of the lead unless you already got one.
  14. I be using the boat as a liveaboard will be CC once i got used to the boat and know how everything works will be looking for a marina for about a year then after that good old CCing. will want to run the norm things

I not got a NB yet but planning it for 3 years time I spent a few holidays on a NB in the summer and May. never done winter boating but I often go camping in a tent in the snow with no heating so I think if i can cope in a tent I can cope on a boat in the winter(yes before anyone say they both different I Know), I know that winter boating is alot different but I am not going into this with my eyes closed thats why I spending upto 3 years before making the move.

  23. Rayleigh tip is run by rochford council not southend council thats why no charge at rayleigh.
