try pointing out that burning household coal will block his chimney very quickly. I have heard that the bore of a chimney will reduce to 2 inches in less than a week ,with all the attendant problems, when using ordinary coal.If that doesn't work a word with SWMBO should do the trick.

I can sympathise with Wrigglefingers. I'm registered as the full time carer for swmbo.but that means nothing to ATOS healthcare ,who have summoned me to a medical assessment.They threaten to stop my esa,(they don't actually pay any because we have small pensions)they threaten to stop my nic stamp altho this is paid as part of my carers allowance.they can't even help me find a job I already have one but can't go because i'm caring for the wife full time.still must attend or alsorts of dire threats are promised.

silkstream's tank is over 18years old and i've never felt the need to excavate the bows area to see what it looks like.We refill at least twice a week and have never had a problem yet.

I apologise if i've missed this as a topic,but I've never heard boaters talking about the fact that internal door fittings tend to miss-align as the boat warps in hot weather.It must come as a shock to those new to boating when it happens.I know they return to normality as the boat cools down.On my bathroom door,the only door where it happens,Ive had to put a hook and eye to keep the door shut.

funny really ,all those people who don't live on boats think that the problem is keeping warm in winter.those of us that do liveaboard know that the real problem is keeping cool in summer.
