  1. There is also a short piece at the end on the BBC midlands local news, which is on iPlayer now.
  2. The speeches were on a zoom webinar, and I understand Facebook live, so the Facebook one should be available. The ITV Central news that has just been on had a good piece, well I would say that as the second interview was me! If you missed it ITV+1 at 7:45 or ITVX when it’s made available.
  3. I’ve just been interviewed by ITV news, I apologise in advance if they use it!
  4. If anyone did not see it check out the 6pm ITV Central news, the lead item was on the Sunday event and the impact on the canals. There are people on it that many of you will know!
  5. Just arrived, and moored in preferred location on Oozels St Loop, Main Line did look busy for the time of day.
  6. If you didn’t know the trial was on you would probably have been planning on leaving Saturday if you were arriving today, there were few mooring spots over 2 days previously in the city centre. Perhaps CRT’s communication has got through this time!
  7. We are coming into Birmingham in the morning, hopefully we will find somewhere. Surprised someone who arrived today is intending to be still there on Sunday, I was suspecting that most would not know about the mooring trial, have the signs been changed?
  8. It is from an email address on the IWA domain if that is what you meant. Seems to clarify the logistics a bit!
  9. The facilities are all listed on the leaflet that is also available on the ANT website https://www.avonnavigationtrust.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Welcome-Information-2023.pdf edited to add, tip out is elsan in ANT speak!
  10. You just need to watch out for the debris that comes up with the tide when it overtops the weir at Lower Parting, think trees, fridges, all sorts.
  11. I had assumed that was so that there would be no boats moored in the area around Salvage Turn
  12. There is also Whitlocks End station, convenient for junction 3 or 4 of M42, lots of free parking, however the service stops at 6pm on Sundays.
  13. Yes that is true, check the CRT opening hours in the stoppage notices. You get Tuesday off! Note also that this year they close at 6pm, previous years it was 7pm (I think).
  14. When I was a member of the working class, work’s VPN worked perfectly with Three, do you know why there is an issue with specific providers.
  15. There are lots of public carparks close to the Mail Box, it depends on which direction you will be coming from as to which is best. Have you considered getting the train in, it will probably be cheaper than the cost of the car parking!
  16. We have sorted our plans out, and I have just filled in the form on the IWA website. Have not had an email with details or anything though, presumably that will come in the following days. The question about where you will be mooring on the Saturday nightis bit confusing, who moors at Smethwick Junction, and there was no option for in the city centre. If they want the boats the cruise into the centre on mass, then I am happy to go down the Smethwick Junction first thing Sunday morning, but I think that needs to be made clear in the communication that is hopefully to come. If there are any organisers are on here who could take that on board that would be great, but I have also emailed the any questions email on the IWA site.
  17. There are only 3 of the bridges that have VHF. The rule is even for the ones that an NB can pass under you have to wait for a green.
  18. You wait for a green, end of, or else you will get shouted at. I waited for a green with the bow of the boat past the light and I got a right telling off! The two (smaller ones) that you can pass under in a NB, you still wait for a green, or for the keeper to wave you through.
  19. I don’t think so. This is the list of facilities on the Avon, published by ANT https://www.avonnavigationtrust.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Welcome-Information-2023.pdf
  20. Yep saw the update on the stoppage, currently on our way
  21. We are on the approach to Leamington at the other side at the moment, will move later on, assuming open to get to bottom late afternoon. We only want to get up to where you are today. I would appreciate an update when it opens, as CRT will inevitably lag a bit in updating the stoppage notice.
