  5. Weather problems being one thing, but it doesn't really help when the sanitary station gets blocked up due to the inconsiderate section on the water. Braunston junction station blocked up because of dish rags, sanitary towels and nappies. All pumped out at the cost to BW etc etc. Terence

  7. My vote is also Stoveglow. Gosty Hill stocks it and only delivered half a dozen bags to us yesterday (new orange bag). Terence

  11. The 1970's bridge I agree, hence my comment Artwork not scribble (scribble being "Sally fancies Jonny"...who may well be married by now ). I myself would prefer to see the bridge for what it is, a bridge. "Public Art" and "Graffiti" I see as two different things. But both taking my taxes in a different ways (one putting it on and the other taking it off). I do however quite like some of both. I've passed the boards mounted under the bridges in Rugby many times Showing Rugby. I assume liked by some and not by others. In keeping, I suppose, much more than Sally and Jonny. My personal opinion I would rather just see the Bridge.
  12. I would. I would also be very happy to learn how they could do this with spray cans. Artistic tallent comes in all mediums. I think it would be more in keeping with our canal systems as apposed to scribble (not the artwork, or in some cases tagging). Terence
  13. I find it very strange Dave that you didn't mention me as a person with Cans of all sizes (infact all canalware) as you are fully aware and purchsed quite a number yourself privately. Having been a member of the Guild for a number of years, you are well aware of the work I have been involved in producing these items (the Guild also purchasing from me). I'm surprised that the Guild are not more supportive of their own members. Terence

  16. It is still moored up at the entrance to Braunston Marina. Was looking at it today. I think that is its permanent home. Terence
  17. After reading this thread and seeing some of the crap dragged from the canals I couldn't believe my eyes when I settled down to watch the movie The Full Monty and low and behold there was a Ford Cortina or maybe Granada floating in the canal. Oh my, Terence
  18. Tut tut. I have emailed a chap who claimed a relative of his may have painted it. Will let you know the outcome but in the meantime yes I would love to see it. Hi Dave, The paint looks a modern paint (although very old) but I would say not hand mixed. Which took me away from the past painters. Untill I came across a picture of a lamp painted by Percy, but only southern style roses which are very similar to the ones on my lamp. But then there are the Knobstick roses which I couldn't place. The lamp itself is old and could date that far back. Let me know how you get on. Terence
  19. Hi Mark, I have a lead that I will follow concerning the stool and will hopefully know something soon. The information I have at the moment is the painter could be Kentish. I'm surprised at your interest and is it a coincidence that the person who bought the stool is also called Mark hmmmm The Lamp by the way I think could possibly be by Percy Foster you don't normally see southern style roses mixed with the Knobstick and Percy was not known for his Knobstick Rose. 22. Hi Tim Working on it hope to know something soon. Clearly a bargin then Clicky Storage stool Terence
  23. You could be right. At least it kept everyones attention away from this item that I bought from ebay and collected today. Very pleased. £85 Terence Had you noticed that it's advertised as a storage stool so the top will lift up. I really do think it is very beautiful item who ever painted it. Terence
  24. I'm surprised that know one could shed any light on this stool and I've just noticed that it is now up to £127 on ebay. What does the bidder know that the hundreds of members on this forum (myself included) doesn't? Terence
  25. That was also my thoughts Richard, In the style of mybe Lewery. I think the person has a wonderful imagination to come up with the castle. I like the flowers too. Terence
