yeh i think so! to cover the fuel and their costs etc. THey need the boat moved from viking afloats base to alvechurch as that is where it is going out from next! makes sense really for them to do it that way instead of using their own staff!

We had a go a while back too. Was a really great way to see the place.. as we were only staying up there on a quick visit anyway. I think the price was reasonable considering you can get into (or could when we were there) museums suchs as the maritime one for free

one would have though that it varies, depending on how far down the course you are. -
haha.. if they don't like doing things like swing bridges why are they even on that bit of canal (on the canals at all)... i have to say for me it is all part of the fun!

We still havn't got a share in another boat yet... but.. alvechurch emailed saying they needed a boat being moved.. (i guess they email everyone who hires from them?!) so.. we are now going on a weekends cruise from diglis basin to alvechurch next week after my exams :-) Should be good!

We stop in locks if there are no other boats. Obviously we move when we see a boat.. which is probs. why they were sitting on the roof!

Yeh we never have things like the gas cooker going in a tunnel. With the 'hat' thing.. on our old share boat it was a cap.. but it was up on three legs. So there was open air contact.. it just didn't go straight up. If that makes any sense what so ever.
