BW, as was, the City Council and volunteers have spent a lot of time, money and effort to restore the canal in the past. Unfortunately a few of the residents along the canal's route appear not to appreciate their efforts. In some ways those who care for the canal are fighting a loosing battle. The basin could be a hive of activity but because of the Ring Road, access both by foot and car from the City Centre is not straight forward. I do hope that the hire base there can go some way to breath life back into the area but the Council will need to supply better sign posting for both cars and pedestrians.

Also, same man, "I want to defy the authorities and live free" - let's all jump on that band waggon.
