  1. You're a brave man to take down your insulaing in this weather
  2. If you follow the 'Link' in Rogers post above you'll find the details in that thread .
  3. The Villager won't put condensation into the air unlike a gas heater or stove. Unlike sprayfoam which adheres to the metalwork, the type of insulation you have will allow airborne condesation to condense directly onto the steel work which will then run down to the gunnels and drip out as you describe. I've put a link [above] to a posting that Roger has just done, this might help understand whats happening. Edited to add, bit of a crossover here, see Roger has answered whilst I was writing.
  4. This thread may help :- http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php...ic=27174&hl=

  6. What type of heating do you use ? and do you know what type of insulation was used.
  7. How will you heat your hot water in the summer if it's too hot to have the AGA running. Have you got an alternative, like an instant gas water heater ?
  8. Lovely pics, feel the same as 'MrCJ' difference is we're in sunny but very cold Devon. Still, can't have everything. Just noticed the 'Roses' painted on the pipe over the tunnel entrance, that's brilliant. The more I think of it the more unusual it becomes, anyone else seen this done before?
  9. Have you tried disconnecting the fuel line from where it connects to the bottom of the fuel tank. There should be a stop tap between the tank and that connection, when disconnected slowly open the tap and see if the fuel runs freely, if it doesn't then I'd assume diesel bug. It forms like a jelly against the outlet in the tank and although you can push a stick or whatever into the tank the jelly closes up behind it. The only way I've dealt with it for instant results is to push a long [at least a metre long, 2mts better] piece of clear plastic hose onto the outlet, open the tap and suck [yuk] you do have to give a strong suck, hence the length of the pipe, but you'll know when to stop, believe me . That should get you going again, I've not found it nescarsary to replace filters, just give them a swish in some clean diesel. Get some Marine 16, it's the best, it'll kill the bug and also dissolve the residue which others don't do.
  10. Bloody hell, this almost sounds like common sense, surely no one from the goverment can be involved in all this.
  11. Bath & shower normally via pump, hand basin & sink free flowing through seperate skin fittings, that's how it's done on ours, but maybe different on others. Most chandlers will have the oppropriate pipe connections for the waste fittings.

  13. Well I never, learn something new everyday. What make is the one in your bathroom, out of interest. The ones I've seen in B&Q and the likes always looked soft underneath.
  14. I would have thought anything would be better than MDF for flooring, especially on a boat.

  18. Found this :- http://www.completelyflooring.co.uk/aquastep.html Is this what you were referring to? Edit. Grac & Favour beat me to it. Just clicked on designs and got 'There are no products to list in this category'????????????
  19. Oops, I don't think I did that bit, but I normally do the rest whenever we leave it for more than a week after the summer ends. Left an electric convector heater on lowest setting during the colder months last year, very economical, not quite sure why, but it did seem sensible at the time. Regarding the original question, I wouldn't set the Webasto to run at all, if you really do need to have some sort of heating whilst away, better an oil filled rad or convector on lowest setting if on mains hookup.
  20. I'm sure you'll get it right, but, even if you don't like it, post anyway, then we can all have a play SWMBO is already in the kitchen starting on your chutney
  21. If it is and I think you're right, she looks tidy and well looked after.
  22. 2mins 6secs in, yeeee haaaaaaa. Bet the snow clearer driver enjoyed his job that day, bit scary at times though.
  23. How old is the diesel in the tank, could be you have a mild case of diesel bug, and now it's very cold it's made the difference of just being able to flow enough, to can't flow enough.
  24. Make sure they give a new BSC with it, the current one is nearly expired. Can't be too careful with gas installed.
