  6. Plenty of rumours about, some of them I heard were he'd: *sheared off two rivets *Ripped a foot long gouge in the hull *sunk *was last seen sinking rapidly, despite 1/6/11 bilge pumps I think he'd only got a little hole around the water line, cos it was welded with the boat still in the water apparently

Title says it all. A contact number would be useful, shes wanted for a Project. Having said that; if we cant get Meteor, any butty will do. Any ideas?
  11. Linnet went back in this time with a miniture of whiskey over the bow, Having said that, when Humphrey was launched, he didnt go in with the bottle of champange. He only moved when mum cracked a bottle of stout over him that he bobbed into the water Linnets been renamed several times through her life with (touch wood) no ill effects. Sea-going tradition states that the ship has to be properly christened for the name changing bad luck to apply and then if you re-christen the ship in her new name theres no problem, or if your to cheap to go for the full out christening; providing the original ships bell is kept, there wont be any problems. Thats sad, I shouldn't know that.... *sighs*

  17. Linnet has a Premier. Its a good little stove, I use it for cooking etc.
  18. its normal. coal does burn hotter than wood, but it needs a really good run up. stove shape makes a difference - tall and narrow firebox, go for hard coal (anthracite) - small, low and wide, go for bituminous coal (soft types) clinkers on the fire itself will make it burn lower, coal produces around 8 times more ash than wood which make it seem to burn hotter. the type of coal is the final thing. anthracite needs a good air flow just to keep going, so when loading more coal on its advisable to open the draft until the new coal has caught on.
