  1. Doesn't that kind of mean that you expect to annoy people on here to the point that they'd throw abuse at you in real life. Odd as i've never had anyone on here throw abuse at me.. Casp'
  2. I think we could do with pictures.. Casp'
  3. My Ruston sits on 3"x2" oak bearers. Casp'
  4. Found the thread, interesting read.. I have no intention of taking my hull back to bare metal, so it's not for me, and I wonder whether it would affect any sale price as buyers would maybe avoid it? Casp'
  5. My Dad always says it's pointless painting a hull with anything, except for aesthetics. If you read their technical blurb for the ZInga stuff, they make it sound wonderful, but I suppose no one has tested it on a hull. Casp'
  6. I would start by suggesting that a 4vsh is massive.... far too big for a normal narrowboat on canals. I have a 2VTH, which is a lower powered version of the VSH, but shares some parts and looks the same. There are quite a few Rustons in narrowboats.. Casp'
  7. http://www.frost.co.uk/zinga-cold-galvanising-system-anti-corrosion-zinc-coating.html Been told it's good stuff for painting the old galvanised parts on my old land rover, but wondered if anyone had used it on a boat hull, no idea whether it would be any good, expect if it was then boat builders would be using it. 8. My Ruston smokes, and has been getting more smokey. The injectors and pumps on mine were done a few years ago. But mine starts and runs fine, except for the smoke, but that is needed for nice smoke rings . I think mine will need stripping down as exhaust comes out of the oil filler if I remove the cap, at least I guess it's exhaust. Casp'
  9. I didn't take Physics because our Teacher new she was leaving to start a pig farm! so she wasn't remotely interested in teaching us anything. But I did learn that you can make one magnet hover over another if the poley things are set up right.. Casp'
  10. Ok, a tiny bug lands and walks on the water surface tension, does it still displace it's weight in water, albeit by a tiny amount.. and then what happens if millions of them land.. Casp'
  11. but how quickly? And, of course, what if the water is frozen solid.. Casp'
  12. The 20 people came down by parachute.. Casp'
  13. So, what if my boat is stopped half way along the aqueduct, and then 20 people jump on... ha.. Casp
  14. March sounds early for me, I need more notice than that.. Casp'
  15. Waterways are slowly letting the drained section fill up. They say that they have finished the repairs and once the section is full, and they have carried out a few checks, they will re-open the canal. Probably this Friday. Casp'
  16. In case it rolls the boat over then.. Casp'

  19. Hang on.. I think I may have connected the stereo memory to the permanently live stud as I don't loose my channels every day when I switch the isolator off, but now I've had the battery out the channels are lost.. Casp'
  20. I will have to take a look. It's an old landy, and I can't see the back of the isolator without pulling a dash panel forward a bit. I've looked before but can't remember.. Casp'
  21. I only ask as I have just connected the leads to my battery and it sparked slightly as it was being touched, but the positive lead goes straight to an isolator, the standard type with the red key.. This is on an old vehicle, not on the boat. Can't see how there can be any connection to allow a spark, unless it's the isolator itself. Casp'
  22. Apart from all the action to set up, there doesn't look to be much change this week, but they have a while left yet. Casp'
  23. They're doing their deliveries by van at the mo. I don't know their number but you can contact them through this site's facebook. Casp'
  24. Not very far. A boat turned up at the weekend who didn't know there was a stoppage, so they are stuck as it's about 45 minutes backwards to the nearest winding hole...
