  1. Unless you’re any good at metalwork get a new one made or give that one to someone to be repaired. Easiest to cut off the damage and weld new. For a quick fix a screwfix hydraulic jack and put it between two immovable objects. Slowly jack it straight. You’ll need to go slightly past straight for it to spring back. Hydraulic jack gives you a level of fine control.
  2. If you’re doing this actually makes sense to score the back first and let it form the curve gently. Fill the scores with adhesive foam and stick in place as normal. No unfilled cracks and under far less tension as it sets.
  3. Well don’t. 😂. Your lack of understanding doesn’t make it my issue. That’s like saying ‘I’ve decided I’m right’. Fine if you’re 3 years old but not great otherwise. And please find something better to do with your evenings than waste them on me.
  4. Then you don’t understand unprompted. Feel free to waste your evening trying to prove a point though. 👍😂
  5. And you don’t for one minute think that’s clearly a response to one of the ‘tools’ yet again posting a way out sign to someone who’s dared to upset them. Must try harder. You may have to revise your understanding of ‘unprompted’. 🙄
  6. ‘Unprompted’. Show me a post where I’ve randomly been rude to someone for no reason. 🤔🤔🤔
  7. No. I just haven’t. Simple as that. Why would I want to be rude to someone for no reason. ????? I have more than enough self-awareness to know when I’m being rude without you needing to help me out. Cheers though. Entitled Generation. 🙄😂
  8. Any forum or page has that on occasion but I’m on that group and had loads of friendly, well-informed advice.
  9. I’ll continue to have a go at rudeness. I’ve never once here or anywhere else been rude to someone unprompted as some on here are. And ‘prompted’ doesn’t include someone being new or querying why they are being asked a myriad of unrelated questions, or talked down to. I certainly don’t need to take lessons off yourself or any of the others who behave in that way so respectfully best save your advice for those that need it. A few on here need to reevaluate what ‘trying to help’ looks like. I’ve known a number of people over the years who seem to think that everyone else they deal with has some issue. Eventually they have to look inward and ask ‘maybe it’s me’.
  10. Can’t help getting along with people. Give it a go. 😉👍
  11. Me I think. 😂😂😂 Spot on my new friend. 😂
  12. Well said. It would be great if the most regular contributors could take a week off. Maybe a temporary suspension for all of the most vociferous to let them see that they don’t need to reply to every thread, don’t need to take offence at anyone who doesn’t immediately bow to their ‘superior knowledge’ and don’t need to ask twenty other questions or query the OP’s reasons for asking. Would need to be compulsory. The main culprits couldn’t possibly do it willingly. Far too self-absorbed. Just a thought. 🤔
  13. Yep. I concede. You’re not at all condescending. 😂😂😂
  14. Probably three out of three until the message sinks in to be fair. 😉. I try and leave it alone but then another newbie joins and then immediately leaves thanks to the attitudes of the ‘‘forum elders’ 🙄. I like to think of myself as a crusader helping to remind them that it’s just a forum and would benefit from more contributors and opinions, not less. 👍
  15. 😂😂. You’re not bright enough to compete with me, but well done for having a go. 😉
  16. And again. 😉 Corrected that for you. 👍
  17. And yet the time spent bothering to type a reply says otherwise. 😉
  18. And the prize for most self-important tool of the year goes to……. 😂 As I’ve said so many times, it’s just a forum. nobody makes you reply to anyone. Do it with good grace and generosity or don’t bother at all. You’re not saving lives.
  19. Somebody could have had all of mine. All removed and 95% of it was totally rot-free. Tried to offer it on the Marina WhatsApp but no takers so it went to the skip unfortunately. Guaranteed 5 minutes later someone wants it. Not cheap these days either. .
  20. Good to see you’ve reinforced the condescending bit for me. 😉😂 Much appreciated.
  21. No. I think if you look at most of them it’s just rude and condescending and designed to put people off. 😂 I deal with clients all day every day. I do exactly as you suggest and point out other issues or just fix them for them as part of the service. I’ve never spoken to any of them the way that some address people on here. I’d be out of business in days if I did. There’s a huge difference between asking questions to help someone with their query and using every opportunity to belittle them in some weird gate-keeping power-trip because you're a ‘forum elder’. (Yes! That’s an actual thing that grown-ups say on here 😂😂). The need to prove ‘how clever you are at boats’ sadly outweighs the desire to help with any useful info. Or god forbid just not answer because you don’t know. Then what would other forum elders think of you! 😱 Have a look at someone’s recent request for a new prop in the wanted section if you want yet another example.
  22. Because as I said to the last person who asked, it’s my choice how I spend my time, not anyone else’s. I’ve given up asking questions on here due to the supercilious attitudes and frankly bizarre approach to anyone new, but if I can help anyone else or pick up anything from the few and far between builds on here then I’ll continue to pop in. Broadening your mind to as many inputs as possible can only be a good thing. Thinking that all the info you need is on one site is not. But you do you. I won’t query how you spend your time as it’s not my concern. All the best.
