  1. No walls only ceiling We installed wet system underfloor heating on top of the 18mm treated ply that was in place. It is heated via a hurricane boiler, the piping is fitted in insulated boards. Keep the floor nice and toasty in the winter along with the log burner
  2. Hi We fitted out a new Liverpool sailaway last year We installed timber to each of the metal angle iron, drilled painted and bolted with stainless bolts. We then framed out top and bottom and put timbers between these. We did not use no nails as you want to allow the timber to move etc We then had it spray foamed between all timber
  3. This one looks ok, but 12V planet one looks good as well. Cheers all https://www.furneauxriddall.com/products/1-5mm-16-awg-round-2-core-oceanflex-tinned-thin-wall-cable-21a-select-reel-size?variant=43742792646938
  4. Only difference is is full plastic not metal lined type as per CEF Always a few ways of doing the same job I suppose, good for rewiring. This is how the boat builders do it so that all cabling can be accessible
  5. Like a flexible conduit that protects the DC cables. You run them through it so, also makes it rewireable
  6. Cheers all I was trying to save running copex all the way down the boat as the DC is single insulated I get the point of mixing colours etc , so I will order the singles and run the DC in copex Gutted do enjoy a good bodge job 😂
  7. Hi All Can I use arctic cable for DC applications?? I understand about voltage drop current etc, just wondering if anyone knows a technical reason to not use arctic flex for low wattage DC appllications Any advice would be great
  8. Sorry hopefully posted by me now 😀 Thanks for all the replies It is the great River Ouse, we have lots of boats that are permanently moored along the banks so I assume no major issues. The river obviously rises and falls albeit not to the extremes of other rivers as stated above The EA are particular about anything being driven into the riverbed not the boat, I have to apply for a permit to install any poles etc into the riverbed. I am considering a bank install solution; at low water level the boat is still able to sit close to the bank, so I am considering a landbased pontoon that will sit on the ground at a minimum point and then rise with the river on land based scaffold poles. With regards to planning we have in excess of 50/100 liveaboard boats with their own land using the riperian rights law; it would seem a few cases Moore vs the British waterways being one, set a precedence for mooring against the land that you own (owning the land is critical) that a riperian owner is not committing a legal wrong, so therefore you are entitled to do so.
  9. I live on a canal boat at present but in a Marina, so thinking of the move over to my owned land (save the marina costs) Negatives More isolated etc
  10. Yes the EA advice is that the boat is fine, but I would need to apply if I was going to install a pontoon or mooring Thanks for the advice
  11. Hi All I am looking for some advice I own a piece of land with riparian rights to the middle of the river, does this mean I can moor my boat alongside my bank. I obviously need to pay river license, which I am aware of. A heads up would be much appreciated
