  4. Unless I've missed somthing, this was hardly going to be a massive challenge for her...
  5. You'd have worse fuel consumption than Phylis with that thing in. Might be the first narrowboat anyone has ever got to plane mind you...
  6. There is an Sr2 and a Lister box at Kerridge dry dock on the Macc. It was a runner, came out of a sunken wreck of a boat, its spent a week or so under water, but I belive no lasting damage has been done. If you are interested, phone John the yard owner for more info. Google will probably bring his number up.
  7. My copy of the SR series manuel gives lots of detail of the ducting needed to do this. I've thought about doing the work a few times - it would only need a small amount of trunking, on my boat at least.
  8. don't in boating when there is thick ice about it wrecks your blacking. And just guess who had to reverse a quarter of a mile today because the ice got too thick to push through... Still I'm now getting good at reversing.

  10. This is the main why the BSC is so obsessive about gas leaks. That said, I don't know how many boats have actually exploded for this reason without a major gas leak.

  13. Because they are evil robbing theves, who want to extract the most possible cash out of their poor old boaters. Personally, I think a residential licence sounds like a total disaster, given that most livaboards are on moorings that don't actually have planning permission. I can see being caught between the devil and the deep blue sea on this one - either I have to tell BW I don't live on my boat, or have the council find out that I do. Lo and behold, I end up joining the ranks of the CC'ers promptly, and find myself working round the Cheshire ring on a full time basis.
  14. Her point is that GRP boats are better, because the companies that make most of them are bigger, so they haven't gone bump yet. Its the most daft argument I've heard in a long time, but there you go.
  15. I don't roam, but don't have a post address either. My post goes to a trusted friend, I collect it once a week. Could you find someone who was prepaired to forward mail to wherever was most convient?
