  1. I used to be a trustee of a charity called "The Very Moving Festival Company" whose objective was to spread the word about music, especially choral singing. They did this by undertaking cross country walks each summer performing specially commisioned musical works at schools along the way, many of the children had never seen a live performance before ! During millennium year they walked from Letchlade to the Thames barrage. It took 4 weeks, with school performances and musical interludes at many of the locks ( at one, the lockie produced his own saxophone and joined in.) Final performance was at the smaller of the 2 Millennium domes. I was able to join them on the walk at weekends. I especially remember a private visit to Hampton Court where were able to sing in the chapel, and performing on one of the stages at the Henley regatta. The guys who managed to do the whole walk said it was the best one they ever did.
  2. In many of the shots in the most recent programme you could see that re-planting is going on to replace the missing trees.
  3. Think you can buy bottled beer in the caff.

  7. I replaced mine with a properly soldered set of connectors and most of our previous TV/Sat problems were cured immediately!
  8. Ours was always very stiff until I stripped it down and found only 3 of the 4 brass rollers on which it runs actually turned. The 4th had been jammed so long it had developed a "flat". Lots of lubricant and it's now much better, although it rumbles a bit in use! David
  9. Can I just say how lucky we are to have Rob contribute to this forum? Happy Christmas Rob

  15. Anyone know what the XX display in the external humidity means on the Aldi £20 Station? Ours does it ocasionally and I can't find anything in the manual. David

  18. Well, I bought the stuff and took it with us on our long summer holiday down the K+A, intending to apply same in spare moments when crusing Surprisingly when the weather warmed up, the dark stain in the ceiling faded away so I never actually got to use it! Still got it in the drawer if it ever comes back. David
  19. I think I read once that Lennon/McCartney only started keyboards so as to find some common ground when working with George Martin who didn't do guitars.

  21. That's odd it worked OK when I first loaded them now I can't download them either! I'll think I'll do the imageshack thing again. Watch this space (or strip of photo)!
  22. Lisa has nothing to do with it! Never thought of that!
  23. It was there unattended from Sunday morning through Monday morning at least to my knowledge. No boat parked near by. Nothing to ID it other than a lot of blue string and an oil-stain!
  24. Judging by the flywheel and starter ring I assumed part of an engine but what sort I don't know. I'm sure someone on here will come up with an answer.
  25. Can't believe we saw this yesterday. Please don't anyone blame the anglers! http://imageshack.com/i/exxsbXBRj [/img]
