  5. If you want to stay safe and have a worry free life I would say near impossible to cc in Manchester. Ok if you are happy to go as far as Wigan

  7. If you are asking me yes it has been missed
  8. Not quite the same but a couple of days ago I emailed customer service for my sightings log just had an email back to tell me my request has been sent to The Informations Officer......I think my email must have gone to MI6. Last year it just required an email to Sarina Young and hey presto within 24 hours sighting log was returned. I wonder if their is an Information Officer Manager who also has a seat on Tinkering Department?
  9. All bridges on a Tuesday and Wednesday
  10. As you were not at the original meetings I had with Sally Ash not sure how you know. The idea came following a boaters meeting in Skipton and Sally (as did i) felt it would be a good idea to get staff oit and about on the system doing boating and listening to and meeting boaters. I am not saying ear bashing but listening to different views
  11. Don't forget bridge closures start 1 November
  12. That is a classic case of backing 2 horses in a 2 horse race. I have heard of plenty of cases where CRT EO have gone out of there way to be agressive against boaters with no previous maybe they simply do not bother to contact you
  13. Have the email but then I was going to ignore it anyway Come a d see me on G&S
  14. Shame they do not say that on their emails was the person in stop house a person with authority otherwise it is meaningless for someone on G&S. I don't think saying to the local EO here "well I read on the forum that the person at the stop house in Braunston said it was ok" is going to work
  15. I have been 3 times and just moored where I liked I prefer to be on the long stretch
  16. Don't forget all visitor moorings except a few become 14 day moorings from 1 November to end February
  17. You can also opt for the Buy Two and Get One Free Offer. If you buy just the first month and the last month you get another 4 weeks thrown in. Sounds like the sort of thing some Insurance Companies and Retailers do
  18. Have you had the north boater email yet? Piss up and brewery spring to mind
  19. IMO It is all a mess The following email has been sent out concerning the G&S QUOTE Winter Moorings Please be advised that there will be winter mooring restrictions on the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal at the sites below from 19thOctober 2015 11 March 2016 (inclusive). Permit holders only may use the sites from 1st November 2015 29th February 2016 in accordance with the length of their winter mooring permit. Rea Visitor Moorings Sellars Visitor Moorings Fretherene North Visitor Moorings Splatt South Visitor Moorings Sharpness Visitor Moorings UNQUOTE It seems to say that unless you have a winter mooring these moorings are not available to any other licence payers. Now unless you know the G&S some are quite long Visitor Moorings or even just stretches of moorings. Now unless there is an enormous take up of Winter Moorings it means boaters will be cruising past loads of empty mooring spaces but not allowed to moor
  20. That's interesting what is the number for these livaboard flouting the laws for boats without a home mooring?
  21. Sounds like a good place to hand out legal advice
  22. I am perfectly aware of what the scheme is about as I was the one who came up with the idea and found the first 30 odd boating buddies. The idea was to spend a day on a boat boating and meet and speak to other boaters. Exactly as I did when I had Richard Parry and others as boating buddies. It was not set up as a glorified day out hence why it was agreed that employees who went at weekends would get a day off work to compensate. I still have all the original emails
  23. Get Tony Dunkley to ask them I recon might get a reply by summer
  24. Nice to see he is so enthusiastic about the scheme. If he was on my boat I would happily stop and let him meet some boaters who at present feel less than enthusiastic about CART I have not seen it promoted either but like you do not read boaters update I get my updates from talking to other boaters
