  1. A new one close to the Ashby. Started this week. https://www.parkrun.org.uk/events/events/#geo=12.28/52.63295/-1.3999
  2. I thought there was one on the Racecourse too?
  3. Tewkesbury, Evesham and Stratford-on-Avon are walking distance from the Avon. Worcester and Gloucester are close to the Severn. Market Harborough is walking distance from the Basin. Gunpowder is not far from the Lee. And on the Thames you are spoiled for choice. Including parkrun home at Bushy.
  4. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  5. I think some of it has been recently updated. Meanwhile, canalside ideas.... The Black Lion, Consall Forge had a great cider selection a couple of summers ago. The Anchor, High Offley has Old Rosie. Bridge 61, Foxton also has Old Rosie. .... And all with moorings within easy staggering distance Frances
  6. When we were out and about last year, several marinas with laundrettes wouldn't let passing boaters use them anyway. In some cases that also meant we didn't stop for gas, diesel or anything else either, and moved on to the next friendly one....their loss.
  7. I saw this announced earlier and was trying to find the link to the police statement on the Facebook page, but as there are now almost 1000 messages in the thead that is a Hugh task. So very sad for the family, especially the 2 boys.
  8. Don't know of anyone has seen this. http://www.lancashire.police.uk/news/appeal-for-burscough-woman-missing-from-home Anyone up there might want to keep an eye out. Frances.
  9. I've just been pointed to this thread by the OH. I craft....Most things except knitting and crochet. It used to fit on the boat, but an office space is slowly being taken over with craft stuff. I sell stuff - mainly cards - through the local Country Market (used to be WI). Never going to make my fortune though Only send Christmas cards cos the fun is in the making. Definitely wouldn't buy to send. Agree about some people not appreciating crafted gifts though. That appears to be an English attitude....Americans love crafted goods. We need to turn it round handmade rather than homemade. Hope the new section gets going. Off to look at the Brother thread. Frances
